Grilled Brussels Sprouts

  • About 12 Brussels sprouts, cleaned, trimmed and scored
  • Reserved greens from trimmed sprouts
  • 2-3 tablespoons salt
  • Water
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon each onion powder, garlic powder, celery salt, salt and pepper
  • 2-3 slices already cooked bacon crumbles
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese

Preparation

Step 1

Bring 2-3 cups water and several tablespoons of salt to a boil. Add sprouts. Blanch sprouts by boiling them for 5 minutes. Immediately drain the sprouts and transfer them to an ice bath to stop cooking process.

Step 2

Preheat the Vegetable Tray Insert on the STOK® Grill to medium heat, between 300°F - 350°F.

Step 4

Mix together the olive oil, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and celery salt in a medium-sized bowl.

Step 5

Drain sprouts and toss with olive oil and seasonings.

Step 6

Transfer sprouts into the Vegetable Tray Insert on the hot grill. Let them cook for about 12 minutes, turning them three or four times.

Step 7

Once they are thoroughly cooked, transfer to a serving dish and garnish with crumbled bacon and parmesan cheese.

Step 8

Serve.
